Album containing approximately 170 photographs and 55 coloured drawings belonging to Lilias Graham, of the Womens' Missionary Association, English Presbyterian Mission in China. Lilias Graham was an honorary missionary with the WMA from 1888 to 1906 when ill-health forced her to retire. She herself funded much of the WMA work in Chuan-Chow [Quanzhou], Fujian Province.

"Pontoon bridge -- central section of long bridge at Chaochowfu. Bridge is said to be at least 1000 yrs. Old and is probably ? mile long. Save for central section, composed of massive stone piers, close together, connected with immensely big stone stringers or wooden beams. Each pier is cluttered with shops of all kinds and many piers have big banyan trees growing on them." [now Chaozhou] A bridge on the water, lined on both sides by boats.
Description:"Monkey Den. 1st place occupied by Mission in Chaochowfu." Dr Philip Cousland, a medical missionary with the English Presbyterian Mission, began work in Chaozhou in 1888.
